Doctrinal Statement

Adopted November 1998

THE BIBLE
The entire Bible, in its original writings, was given by inspiration of God. It is the complete and absolute authority.
II Tim. 3:16,17 II Pet. 1:20,21

THE GODHEAD
There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Eph. 4:4-6 Deut. 6:4

FATHER
The Father has given all things to Jesus' control. To Jesus, the man the Father was absolute authority and source of all power. No one comes to the Father except through the person of Jesus Christ. Anyone who knows the Son, Jesus, also knows the Father.
John 5:22; 12:49-50; 14:6-11

SON
The Son is Jesus Christ. He created all things. He came in the flesh as a sinless, perfect human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. He purchased man's redemption and is at the Father’s side making intercession for believers.
John 1; Rom. 8:36-39; Col. 1

HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit sanctifies, teaches, empowers, enlightens, and baptizes the believer. He produces the fruit of the Spirit in believers.
Rom. 8:1; I Cor. 12:11-13: Gal. 5:22-23

CONDITION OF MAN APART FROM GOD
All men are separated from God and unable to please him. Apart from Jesus Christ, all men stand condemned for eternity.
Eph. 2:1-4, 6-9

REDEMPTION
God justifies and declares sinners righteous, freely by His grace. This grace is based entirely on the blood of Jesus and is given to all believe in Jesus ALONE for salvation. One must believe that Jesus died for their sins, was buried, and rose from the grave. God's redemption is given to all who put their faith in Jesus and His finished work. All believers are eternally secure.
John 3:36; Rom. 3:23-30, 8:1; I Cor. 15:1-4; Eph. 2:6-10

BELIEVER'S WALK
A believer is any person who trusts Jesus Christ ALONE for his eternal salvation. The believer's walk is the biblical view of how God desires him to live. It is God's desire that a believer continually trust Him (live by faith) in all situations and circumstances. This is accomplished by submitting, in obedience to God and the Bible as absolute authority.
Rom. 12:1-8, 13:10, 14:23

RESURRECTION
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is essential to the Christian faith. His resurrection from the dead has abolished death. As Jesus was raised from the dead, so shall the believer be raised. All men will have a bodily resurrection, the just to everlasting glory and the unjust to everlasting punishment.
John 3:36; I Cor. 15:16-26, 40-44; Rev. 20:10-15

BAPTISM
All believers have been made members of the Body of Christ by one spiritual baptism. By this baptism, every member is identified and united with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. This union, or baptism, is the basis for a victorious life in which a believer has the power to live a life pleasing to God.
Rom. 6:3-14; Col. 2:12

THE CHURCH AND IT'S MISSION
The universal church consists of all believers and is called the Body of Christ. The Body of Christ is unique in that the Jew and Gentile are one family of God apart from the nation of Israel. God established the church to bring honor and glory to Himself. Local assemblies of the church exist: (1) to worship God, (2) to encourage each other in godliness, and (3) to proclaim the message of reconciliation to all men. This is accomplished through the use of gifts and the power of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
Eph. 1:1-2, 2:11-16, 4:11-15

LORD'S SUPPER
The Lord's Supper served as a memorial to the death of Jesus and is to be observed until He returns. Participation is meant to remind us of the unity of all believers in Christ. The bread represents the body of Jesus Christ given for us on the cross. The drink represents the blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed for forgiveness of sins. Only believers are to partake in the Lord's Supper (communion).
I Cor. 10:16, 11:26-32, 17

COMING OF CHRIST FOR THE CHURCH
The Lord promises that the Church will be caught up (raptured) to meet Him in the air, to be forever in His presence. Because Jesus Christ is coming again, a believer should purify himself and be zealous for good works (thoughts, words, deeds) that bring honor and glory to Him.
I Cor. 3:10-17; I Thess. 4:13-18; II Tim. 2:11-15

STATE OF THE DEAD
Physical death is the separation of the temporal body from the eternal soul and spirit. Spiritual death is separation between God and those persons who do not confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Nowhere does scripture extend any hope of salvation outside of the person and work of Jesus Christ. At death, a believer remains in a conscious state, present with the Lord, and in the absence of sin and suffering. A nonbeliever continues forever in a state of conscious suffering, totally separated form God.
John 3:36; II Cor. 5:6-8; Rev. 20:10-15

DISPENSATIONAL EMPHASIS
Dispensation is a Bible word that means house law. God has given house laws through the Bible. Some are unique to a specific people during a specific period of time. The Apostle Paul is the apostle to the age in which we live. He has given the house laws for the "dispensation of the Grace of God" that should be our guide and foundation. Many principles of Scriptures (i.e., holiness, repentance, teaching about God and man) apply to all ages and are for our obedience.
Gal. 1:7-9, 2:4-9; Eph. 3:1-9
